    USCIS has not mentioned of any plans to allow filing of I-485 if priority dates are not current.
    Its a different thing that lot of people wish that this will be the case.

    Hi all!

    I've been trying to get a job offer from Canada for the past one year as my occupation is not on the list of occupations that have shortage. I'm a market research analyst and work online with a UK company for almost 3 years. I would love to move to Canada and have a real job and family but am at a stage where I do not know what else to do as the companies want you to be present in Canada and Canadian govt asks for a job offer to get a visa?

    Very confused here. If someone got an arranged offer from Canada could you please guide on how much work experience you had and how you got an offer?

    I think it depends under which past fee regime did you file then.......people who filed at that time under the old fee structure need to keep ponying up as far as I remember.
    Post it on the lawyer's forum side...you might get a more acuurate/updated answer otherwise I guess its 380 bucks now(the fee was again bumped up on nov 23).

    Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place, wasn't exactly sure where to post.

    I applied for my Certifcate of Citizenship through my US citizen father about 5 years ago, and due to that US citizen father being an ass I still don't have it.
    I have decided to just go back to England. I am happy about going back now and this post isn't about finding other ways of getting my citizenship.
    When I originally came to the US I intended just to visit so I came on the Visa Waiver Program, and then decided to stay and become a citizen

    My query is: When I leave to go back home will I be able to leave the US with just my passport(recently renewed) and ticket? or will I have to contact the USCIS and get some kind of letter or the like?

    Pineapple, although I dont have a solution to your problem I can definitely say that something is better than nothing. The senate dont have a problem with legal immigration, as long it is legal. If we can get our EB provisions as a part of this bill, most of them will be happy. There will quirks that can apply to immigrants as well, but that has to be addresed by the part of overall nature of the bill.

    Hello all,

    I had my 140 reinstated in Feb-09 after it was denied back in 08 (filed motion to reopen). Last week i inquired about the status of my case since my visa category is current (VB 02/2003), I received a letter yesterday informing me that the case is out of the processing date, my 140 priority date is 12/2002. is this a mistake or my priority date has change to feb-09?

    This is indeed good news, how long can we stay in dark, we should all know at what stage we are at, as of now I do not know if my case has been pre-adjudicated or not, have background check done or not ??.
